Product Description
Hand wrapped film is usually thin in thickness and has a moderate stretch ratio, relying on manual stretching operations; Machine wound film is thicker and has more uniform tensile properties, suitable for the setting parameters of automatic film wrapping machines. The two have slight differences in viscosity and strength design. You can cut a piece of film about 2.5 centimeters wide and slowly stretch it longitudinally by hand until it breaks. Observe whether the elongation reaches 200% or more of the original length, and pay attention to whether the fracture is uniform and fine. If there is brittle fracture or obvious delamination, it indicates that the quality is average.
Some users have found a decrease in film viscosity during high temperature seasons, which may be caused by the migration of thickening agents in the formula. There are also cases where the film becomes brittle in low-temperature environments, which is often related to the insufficient proportion of metallocene polyethylene in the raw materials. Therefore, if there are extreme temperatures in the packaging operation environment, it is recommended to explain the usage conditions to the manufacturer before procurement and choose a formula with better weather resistance. Although hand wrapped film may seem simple, it involves multiple aspects of material science, processing technology, and operational skills. Understanding its basic knowledge can help avoid common purchasing misconceptions.
